BAFTA Guru Twitter Competition: Terms and Conditions

By entering the competition, entrants agree to be bound by the following terms and conditions:

This is a prize draw run by BAFTA. This competition is open to all UK residents. You (the “Entrant”) must be following @BAFTAGuru on Twitter. To enter the competition, individuals must re-tweet @BAFTAGuru competition tweet and they will automatically be entered into the prize draw. The competition is open from 21 February 2013 to 28 February 2013. One (1) winner will be chosen at random for each event. The winner will win two tickets to a cineworld screening.

Employees of BAFTA or anyone else connected with the promotion are excluded from entry.

Only one entry per person. Multiple entries, or entries made through agents, third parties, organised groups or any entry duplication method, will not be accepted.

Open to all individuals who reside in the UK. Proof of eligibility must be provided. It is the responsibility of the entrant to prove their age at their selected Cineworld should the film they've won tickets for have an age rating. 

The winner will be drawn at random using automated software.

The Prize does not include transportation costs to or from the cinema

It is the responsibility of the winner to inform the Promoter of any wheelchair or similar access requirements for the winner and/or their guest when taking up the Prize, and to adhere to any applicable health and safety guidelines.

The Promoter, or its designated agent, will contact the winner by Twitter direct message after the draw. The winner will be informed on or before the day of the screening. Should there be no response within 8 hours of the direct message being sent, another winner will be chosen at the Promoter’s sole discretion.

The Promoter’s decision is final.

The name of the winner and the Prize won will be made available on receipt of a self-addressed pre-paid envelope received by the Promoter before 31 March 2013.

No responsibility is accepted for entries that are illegible or lost, delayed or damaged electronically, online or otherwise during the competition. Entries that are not submitted in accordance with these terms and conditions and/or that are delayed, damaged, incomplete, altered, illegible or otherwise defective will be disqualified.

The Prize is non-transferable and non-refundable.

There are no cash alternatives.   

The Promoter reserves the right (but is not obliged) to substitute any Prize for a prize of equivalent or greater value in the event of circumstances that make this necessary.

The Promoter will make reasonable efforts to fulfil all elements of the promotion stated but will not be held responsible for failing to fulfil certain elements if beyond the control of the Promoter. In particular, the Promoter reserves the right to substitute any prize with a prize of equivalent value in the event of circumstances outside of its control. The winner also accepts that the prize could be rescheduled, cancelled or suspended for any reason whatsoever beyond the control of the Promoter. 

The Promoter reserves the right to alter, amend, foreclose or withdraw the competition and/or the terms and conditions of entry at any time and without prior notice or compensation.

The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify any entrant[s] it believes not to be participating within the spirit of the promotion or suspects of participating in any unfair or unjust behaviour.  The Promoter reserves the right to use its discretion in all respects and to enforce any penalty or sanction it deems appropriate.  

The winner may be required to take part in a non-paid publicity or advertising relating to the Competition, which may include having their photograph taken for promotional or press purposes.

The Promoter reserves the right to feature the name, photograph and location of the prize winner in any future marketing materials, website publications, promotions and/or prize draws. The winner and guest will be required to take part in other publicity in relation to this competition.

The Promoter accepts no responsibility for entries that are lost or delayed or rendered invalid due to incorrect participant data, lack of network coverage, system, software or hardware failure or for any other reason beyond its control.

The Competition and these terms and conditions (including any non-contractual disputes or claims arising out of them) are subject to English law and any dispute or claims must be referred to the English courts.

If any provision (or part thereof) of these terms and conditions is found by any court, tribunal, administrative body or authority of competent jurisdiction to be illegal, invalid or unenforceable then that provision will, to the extent required, be severed from these terms and conditions and will be ineffective without, as far as is possible, modifying any other provision or part of these terms and conditions and this will not affect any other provisions of these terms and conditions which will remain in full force and effect.
